This one-day course provides an overview of the U.S. DOT requirements for shippers of hazardous materials (also known as "dangerous goods"). Introducing the basics of the DOT hazardous materials classification schemes and illustrates how this connects to similar OSHA, EPA, HMIS, and NFPA classifications, how to use relevant DOT tables of information to properly package, label, mark, and placard shipments of DOT wastes and how to provide the essential emergency response information for the shipment.

To meet the DOT training requirement, tests are administered, marked, and reviewed in class to assure that participants are aware of the correct responses. (Note: Merely passing the exam is insufficient according to DOT guidance; participants must understand the correct answers to all test questions on these examinations of competency.)

This course is also well-suited to presentation on-site where we can concentrate on the actual materials being shipped from the site.
