The Powered Industrial Lift Truck program includes those elements which are required to meet OSHA regulations effective December 1, 1999.   Employees who operate powered trucks, whether gas or electric, must be trained before they are assigned to operate a vehicle. The training takes into account the student's prior knowledge, the specific workplace hazards and the types of vehicles involved. This course includes both general training and truck-specific hands-on practice. The student must pass a written test and exhibit the ability to effectively and safely operate the truck or device to which they will be assigned.

All operators of lift truck must be trained in order to be compliant. Compliance with these regulations is the employer's responsibility.
